Perseverance
One who has overcome personal adversity

Connie Penton Windham

Nominated by Blake Travis

Blake says, “I have had the privilege of knowing and being her friend for the last 20+ years. Thinking back on all the years I have known Connie, I have to say that one of the things that stands out in my mind is her ability to take everything she is given and make the best of it. At age seven, Connie’s left ankle and foot were amputated and she was given her first prosthetic leg. This never slowed her down. In high school she was a member of the pep-squad. She has worked as a physical therapy assistant and is very physically active. She completed her first half-marathon this past fall and has ridden her bike many a mile. She is a Sunday School teacher, Bible study leader, youth mentor, cheerleading coach, Junior Miss director, wife, mother and friend to many.
