A Celebration of Strong Women What is a "Strong Woman?" Strong Women come in all ages, races and walks of life. They may not necessarily be well known and no two may be alike, but all Strong Women have one thing in common: simply observing their lives inspires us to be better people. Strong Women are everywhere in our midst. They are in homes, schools, churches, the workplace. They are ordinary women leading extraordinary lives. To honor outstanding women in our area, this spring Baptist for Women paid tribute to five women selected from nominations submitted by members of the community. The winners were announced on May 1, 2008 during "A Celebration of Strong Women," a luncheon hosted by Baptist, Lifetime Television for Women, and Comcast Spotlight. Nominees were judged by a distinguished panel of women, including members of Baptist's Volunteers, Women's staff and other community leaders. Nominations were accepted through April 8, 2008.
