Respiratory Care Respiratory Therapists provide advanced therapeutic functions, such as advanced airway management, ventilator management, and disease education. They also apply their talents and skills to many treatment areas, including the Emergency Department, Labor and Delivery Rooms and Medical/Surgical Units. Our team of lung professionals stand ready to help you and your physician treat your neurologic, pulmonary related, or sleep related condition. The department is staffed primarily by Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT), the highest professional level within the field. Several therapists also hold critical care specialty credentials from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), such as the Neonatal / Pediatric Specialist credential, as well as the prestigious Asthma Educator Credential from the National Asthma Education Credential Board (NAECB). Our Sleep Diagnostics Lab and Neurodiagnostics/Pulmonary Function Lab therapists hold specialized training for these highly skilled areas including the Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT), and the Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) credential from the NBRC.
