Tips for Increasing Calories & Protein
- Eat smaller, more frequent meals
Try these ideas:
- Add extra butter, margarine and oils when preparing foods.
- Mix powdered milk into casseroles, soups, gravies, cereals and milkshakes.
- Choose calorie-rich snacks such as: peanut butter and crackers, nuts, cheese toast, yogurt and fruit.
- Always have meat, eggs or cheese at meals.
- Use honey, jelly and fruit toppings on toast, muffins, bagels and other food items.
