Jackson, Miss. – October 3, 2006 - The Jim Payne Family Foundation has made a generous contribution to Baptist Cancer Services. This gift enables the Hederman Cancer Center lobby to be dedicated in honor of cancer patients and their families. Baptist Cancer Services launched a $15 million campaign in 2003 and the funds raised have been divided into several phases.

To date, Baptist has raised $10.3 million, which has enabled them to move all of their cancer services to one new, easily accessible building adjacent to the hospital.

“We are extremely grateful for the Payne family’s generosity,” said Jim Moore, vice president and chief development officer. “The Paynes made their gift with first hand insight into the journey that cancer patients go through. Their gift means a great deal to Baptist Cancer Services and to our patients.”
