Jackson, Miss. – November 27, 2006 - The Clinical Laboratory of Baptist Health Systems is now capable of providing laboratory results via an Internet based connectivity solution referred to as CareEvolve. This Internet capability improves patient care by providing online laboratory results in real time, so physicians and clinicians in various locations can access results around the clock.

The CareEvolve system makes access to results easier and convenient for the staff and physician. If a patient is in the clinic and has specimens sent to the hospital lab for testing, the lab in the clinic can instantly pull up information on their test.

“You don’t have to call up anyone on the phone. It offers a better quality for the patient’s care. Results are typically available minutes after being verified in the clinical laboratory” relays Pam Carr, a medical laboratory technician at Baptist Medical Clinic Northtown.”

In addition to Baptist Medical Clinic – Northtown, Debbie Rawson and Ray Upchurch, managers of Baptist Laboratory, have set the system up in Baptist Medical Clinic- Dogwood and the Rankin Children’s Group.

CareEvolve provides secure access for physicians’ offices. Online patient search capabilities for historical results and a chartable patient report are available, too. Plans for the future include providing results to additional clinics and ordering of laboratory tests via the CareEvolve system.
