Baptist Donates Gift to Help Fund Whitten Middle School Incentive Program

Jackson, Miss. - October 27, 2003 - As part of its Adopt-A-School program, Baptist Health Systems provided a cash gift to Whitten Middle School to fund an incentive program for students.

Since 1980, Baptist and Whitten have been partners in the Jackson Public School District's Adopt-A-School program. According to the mission statement, the purpose of the Adopt-A-School program is to"...provide year-round, active involvement of a community group in meeting the needs of students."

Baptist President and CEO Kurt W. Metzner and Baptist Adopt-A-School Coordinator Rhonda McRae presented the gift to Whitten Adopt-A-School Coordinator Lynn Nettles and Whitten Assistant Principal Dr. Martha McLarty in Ms. Doris Still's 8 th grade class.
