Baptist and McRae's Bring Better Health Opportunities to Women

Jackson, Miss.-- March 4, 2003 --- Women are so busy these days, juggling the duties of family, career and caregiver that their own needs often take a backseat. On March 20 and 21, 2003, Baptist Women's Services and McRae's are making it easier for today's busy women to take care of their health needs. McRae's Northpark will be the site of Women's Health Days, a health event designed just for women. Women of all ages will have one-stop access to health information and screenings.

Health screenings will be available Thursday, March 20 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Friday, March 21 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Health information booths will be set up covering heart, cancer and women's services, fitness, food and nutrition, home health and skin care. Screenings include bone density, blood pressure, blood glucose, oxygen concentration, incontinence risks and height and weight.

Women are the primary decision-makers for their family's healthcare, which keeps them busy caring for their loved ones. "Often women put their own medical needs on hold because they are too busy tending to everyone and everything else," said Mary Ann Hood, director of Baptist Women's Services. "Having medical information and health screenings available in McRae's Northpark will give women convenient access to health professionals and health information while they are getting their shopping done. The event will be fun and informative for women of all ages."
