The Mississippi Mass Choir to Perform at Baptist Cancer Services Fundraising Luncheon

Jackson, Miss. - April 2, 2003 - Baptist Cancer Services announces that the Mississippi Mass Choir will perform during its fundraising luncheon which will feature special guests, Former President George Bush and his wife, Barbara. The luncheon will be held on May 5, 2003 at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Jackson, Miss.

The Mississippi Mass Choir is a Grammy Award®-winning group of more than 100 voices from towns all over the state of Mississippi. The group has toured the world with their dynamic gospel music performances, including a 1997 performance for Pope John Paul II. In 1990, the group received Billboard Magazine Gospel Record of the Year for "The Mississippi Mass Choir Live!"

Baptist Cancer Services, which opened the Hederman Cancer Center in May 2002, is expanding support services for patients and their families. Through its fund-raising efforts, Baptist Cancer Services will renovate an existing property to create The Lodge to provide housing for Baptist's cancer patients and their families. Additional funds will expand a transportation program that currently provides free transportation to cancer patients within a 30-mile radius of Jackson.
