Baptist Presented Governor's Business Achievement Award and Award of Excellence

Jackson, Miss. - April 11, 2003 -- Governor Ronnie Musgrove presented Baptist Baptist Medical Center with the Governor's Business Achievement Award for Large Businesses at the Mississippi Quality Awards Luncheon on March 21. Baptist also received the Mississippi Quality Award for Excellence, presented during the event. Both Awards are based on the Criteria for Performance Excellence from the Baldrige National Quality Program.

The Mississippi Quality Award program was created through the Mississippi Workforce Education Act of 1994 to encourage business and industry to commit to the pursuit of excellence and the competitive edge that will assure major growth. The program is administered through the Mississippi State Board for Community and Junior Colleges.
