Cotton Named as MHA Board of Governors Chairman

Jackson, MS, September 3, 2003 - The Mississippi Hospital Association (MHA) recently elected a new Board of Governors for 2003-2004 at the House of Delegates meeting during the Association's 72nd Annual Leadership Conference held in Biloxi.

MHA was formed in 1931 to promote and protect the interests of its over 100 member hospitals and health systems and their 50,000 employees. C. Gerald Cotton, Executive Vice President of Baptist Health Systems, was elected to serve as the Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Cotton has been employed with the hospital since 1989 and assumed his present position in 1997. He has over 40 years of experience in the hospital industry.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University and a Masters degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Healthcare Administration.
